Andressa Urach
Andressa Urach was aged 15 when she began meeting Tiago Costa. Following three months romance the couple moved in together in his house. Arthur Urach Costa, born on May 19, 2005 was the sole child of this couple. After six years separation, the couple divorced in the aftermath of marital disputes. Andressa later moved into her mother's residence with the child. After six months, Urach lost her employment and had to leave her child in the custody of her father. The main aim of her life was to live a more prosperous life within Sao Paulo. Andressa Urach writes in her memoir Morri Para Viver about her experience of sexual assault by her foster father that occurred between the ages between 2 and 8. Andressa Urach only got free of the abuse after her foster grandmother caught her doing it. Andressa then returned home with her mother and she was not aware that she was abused up until Andressa published her memoir. She claimed in interviews that she had accomplished what, for her, was impossible before her spiritual awakening: forgiveness of her abuser. When I was faced with one of my most difficult decisions, I called that person I had assaulted me sexually. This wasn't easy to take. After a lot of prayer and fasting I said on the phone that I forgive him, and although I wasn't guilty I also asked to forgive him. My request for forgiveness wasn't justified. Mariste Urach discusses her feelings in a interview with Globo. She describes the way she reacted after hearing about the sexism that was exhibited to her daughter. In an interview with Globo, Mariste Urach shares what she did when she found out about the harassment suffered from her child.
