Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning is described as "lo lo R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also incorporated elements from hip hop electronic, and rock. She is often incorporating science fiction and feminist themes within her lyrics. Five studio albums have been published by her. Grimes was raised in Vancouver but later relocated to Montreal. Her first independent career in the latter part of the decade. In 2010 she debuted two albums via Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The album was released in 2012 and Visions is her 3rd studio release. Grimes signed with 4AD. Visions is comprised of the singles "Genesis," and "Oblivion" The album was also nominated for"the" Juno Award of the Canadian Music Industry for Electronic Album of the Years. The fourth album of her studio Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise by critics and a variety of journals voted it as the top album of the year. In 2020, she released Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes is the judge for Alter Ego, a music contest. She also was part in the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
